Getting to the Festival

Travelling to the Festival is an important part of your day out, so plan in advance to make sure it’s hassle free.

The Festival takes place in the grounds of Hillsborough Castle on Friday 5 to Sunday 7 July 2019. The entrance is at the new Visitor Centre, off the A1.

Opening times: Friday/Saturday: 11.00am - 6.00pm, Sunday - 11.00am - 5.00pm. 

Please note the site will be open from 10am every day - please allow time to walk from the entrance at the Visitor Centre (off the A1) if you are attending a timed session in The Kitchen or Tasting Theatre. We advise to allow up to 20 minutes to walk to the West Lawn where the Festival is located. Please allow up to 45 minutes prior to entering the admission area for Park and Ride time. If arriving just in time to do you Castle Tour first please allow 45 minutes from arriving at Hillsborough Castle and Gardens to pass through admissions and walk to the State Entrance for the start of your tour.

Train:

Lisburn station: (5 miles from Castle Bus services available from Lisburn bus centre (38 to Banbridge).

Moira station: (8-11 miles from Castle) Bus services available via Lisburn bus centre).

 

Bus:

Nearest bus stop: Hillsborough War Memorial.

There are regular bus services (238 to Newry) from central Belfast to Hillsborough (approx. 35 mins). Buses leave from Belfast Europa bus centre.

 

Car:

Hillsborough is located just off the A1 with easy access from the MI.

 

Parking:

Parking is available in the Hillsborough Castle and Gardens car park just off the A1, please follow the brown tourist signs on the A1 south to our signposted car park entrance. 

We will be running a Park and Ride service from the Eikon Centre. When this is open there will be electronic signage on the main approach routes to the Hillsborough Castle and Gardens A1 car park to direct all guests to the Park and Ride.

 

 

Disabled parking:

Disabled parking will be available, with a blue badge, in the Hillsborough Castle and Gardens car park just off the A1.
