Cynthia Stroud is a multi-award winning cake designer who has built a reputation as the go-to professional for show stopping cakes.

Cynthia is a self-taught baker who set up her business in 2009 working from home. Originally from Nigeria, Cynthia moved to England in 2004 aged 21 to study for her MBA after a degree in Microbiology. She started off making a few cakes from home to fulfil her creative side as a way to relax after working.

It quickly became apparent that her childhood passion for baking had matured into a strength and she quickly established herself as a force to be reckoned with in the industry.

High profile awards include Best Wedding Cake Designer for London & South East and Best Cake Maker in British Wedding Awards. Cynthia has an enviable number contracts for high profile events including the annual contract to be Official Cake Supplier to The BRIT awards for the past 9 years as well as being the resident Cake Maker to Queen Charlotte Debutante Ball since 2015 catering to the crème de la crème of society.

One of Cynthia's most proud accolades was being decorated in the Queens New Years Honours List with medallist of the Order of the British Empire for services to business and community.

Cynthia was ranked amongst the top 10 wedding cake designer in the UK in Brides Magazine and GoHen listed her as one of the top 6 cake designers in South East England 2016.

Professionalism and discretion from Cynthia is highly regarded by her celebrity clients whose wedding cakes have appeared in many magazine articles.

Cynthia opened her first shop in 2013 and within a year, made the move to her bigger shop in picturesque market town Hertford, 35 minutes from Central London. She runs cake decorating classes and has trained up a team of novice cake decorators who have all become experts in their own right.

Pretty Gorgeous Cakes, Cynthia's first book has been well received, selling out on Amazon within 3 days.

In 2017 Cynthia made her debut on UK TV taking part in BBC2’s  4 episode living history series The Sweetmakers exploring the history and intrigues of confectionary through the ages.

Cynthia appeared as a guest on BBC Breakfast show to discuss the history of confectionary.

Channel 4’s Kirsty Handmade Christmas also featured Cynthia as the expert judging the cake craft competition. Cynthia is regularly interviewed on local radio and in local papers on the success of her business and the creativity of her works.

Cynthia is regularly invited to universities and secondary schools to give talks to students on entrepreneurism and service management and was MBA spokesperson for University of Buckingham in Sunday Times MBA List 2017.
